Elf Forests of Trokair

The elves of Trokair make their homes in isolated forests and, while they are open to alliance and mutual aid, outsiders are not welcome within their woods.

Some elves maintain outposts in their forests to receive visitors or fool trespassers. Others regularly patrol their borders to prevent entrance. The elves of Mahuul Maakh simply hide all trace of themselves and wait for intruders to leave (even if it takes a decade).

Each Elven forest grows where the veil between the mortal realm and the Elven homeland is thinnest. Within the heart of the woods, the elves are able to cross over to the true Elven cities for which each forest is named. These cities are grand beyond imagining, each with its own character and sovereign. They are jealously competitive amongst themselves but unite against threats to elvenkind.

The elves who travel to the mortal realm are magically sworn to secrecy regarding the truth of their homes (though many human sages suspect the truth regardless).

Mahuul Maakh

  • The City of Trees
  • Tree forts, wooden bridges, and structures grown from trees and in the branches or hollows or sides of massive trees that might be a mile in diameter.
  • Largest of the mortal forests, located in the Black Duchy
  • Wood elves, grugach

Tua'na Noghk

  • The First City (first in time, first among equals in glory)
  • Impossibly tall and thin spires of ivory and gold. The city shines with splendor.
  • Oldest of the mortal forests, located in southern Aelonia (escaped the Abyssal Horde)
  • High elves

De Daanagh

  • The Floating City
  • Lower level is suspended in a silver lake and navigated by boat/raft. Thin, arcing bridges of silver and gold. Upper level is in the clouds. More thin silver and cloud architecture. Ascend via balloon, cloud, stairs, or teleporter (look at reflection if floating City in lake, feel a momentary dizziness, then find yourself up there looking down at Lake).
  • Everglades located near Wyndhaven (not too near)
  • Sea elves, avariel

Caer Blamaakh

  • The Fortress City
  • A massive stone castle spanning across mountain peaks. Everything about it screams impenetrable bastion.
  • Mountain forest, located in the Westlands border with the Duchy
  • High elves but +1 Str, maybe extra tool proficiency instead of language
  • All elves can be found here?

A'na Naakh

  • The Shining Jewel
  • Gold, glass, and crystal arches, prisms, and columns. Stained glass, colored glass, prisms. Lots of geometric shapes regular solids, spheres, and curved planes.
  • Frozen pine forest, located in the heights of the southern Westlands mountains
  • Eladrin

Phaadragh Sa'adh

  • The Twilight City
  • Eternally night but lit by fancifully colored lights that dance in the mist that constantly rolls through the streets. Home of many renowned artists. Psychonauts level. French Quarter.
  • Bog located in Rackthilde
  • Drow

There was another City that was once in Dhezhan but it lies in ruins and its mortal forest is long gone.
