Near Fortune, the strongest known wizard is Damon Rhiales, the necromancer who took up residence in the city ruins. His nephew, Tam, still comes to town for supplies every tenday or so.
In Wyndhaven, the mightiest wizard is a title of contention as most spellcasters keep their heads down. However, the smart money is on the Iron Mage.
Outside of these areas, even the dullest sheepherder could tell you that Archmagister Ghaleon of Magic City Vane is the greatest spellcaster in the settled lands. Legends say he is the one who ripped the city from the very earth and flung it into the sky and his magic keeps it aloft.
Of course, those in the settled lands are unaware of the vast magical talents of the one entombed in the Crystal Pyramid in the Stardust Desert or the truly plane-shattering strength of true rulers of Dhezhan.
