Q5. Who is the greatest warrior in the land?

The greatest warrior near Fortune is probably the ogre chieftain of the Blood Hand tribe of orcs, Korg'Tar Fleshrender.

They make their home in the mountains north of Trokair and have started raiding the city ruins for the easy plunder hidden by Kelem's Raiders. The Bandit Lord, Kelem, is a skilled combatant who might put up a fight but the sheer size and strength of Korg'Tar puts the W in his column in a one-on-one contest. Special mention goes to Voruun, the barbarian captain who fights like a whirlwind with axe and sword. He is an able combatant but was defeated by Kelem in a duel.

In Wyndhaven, the reigning champion in the gladiator pits is Hida Omura, the Steel Crab. A giant of a man, Hida's left arm is a huge metal [insert guitar riff] crab claw and he wields a crushing tetsubo (studded club) in his right. Rumors swirl about how he lost his arm (cut off during a duel; bit off by a monster; ripped off to beat a foe to death) but it is clear that the claw is a vicious weapon of tremendous strength.

In Aelonia, the two greatest warriors are obviously both paladins: Parler Edwards, the leader of Heaven's Light (originally a famous adventuring party and now a sect within the Righteous Order); and Lawrence Vondeling, an aasimar knight errant known as the Golden Cock who rides a giant celestial peacock. There may be no greater foes of evil than these two, though their prowess is somewhat diminished against mundane opponents.

Knight Commander Cervante Ordoñez of Magic City Vane started as a peerless duelist of the sword and dagger school. Through a lifetime of adventure facing down monsters, who famously do not follow commonly accepted dueling rules, he developed what is now feared as the twin heavy sword style of the Capashen Knights, the flying cavalry shock troops who defend Vane from attack. Commander Ordoñez is a capable fighter unarmored or in plate, mounted or on foot, in air or on the ground, against humanoids or inhuman monsters, and faced with sword or spell.

The Black Duke is the foremost human archer in the settled lands and is a match for even the most skilled elves who set foot in the mortal realm. He rose to prominence during the Dragon Wars and, having founded the Duchy of the Black Hand, is now the Champion of Horde, augmenting his physical strength and skill with divine providence. Direct melee combat is not his strong point but no one wants to face an army lead by the Black Duke; his command of strategy and tactics are legendary and he is willing to do whatever is necessary to obtain victory (famously sending a thousand men to their deaths with a smile on his face to lure the enemy into a trap).
